Hi, I’m Michaela Sparrow. I’m a clinically trained naturopath, nutritionist, anti-ageing medicine practitioner, keynote speaker, and health writer with over 15 years of experience helping women take control of their health using evidence-based, root-cause medicine.
I work with clients across Australia and internationally through personalised online naturopathic consults, and collaborate with brands, wellness events, and media outlets as a speaker, presenter, and contributor in women’s health, hormones, longevity, gut health, and nutrition.
But more than that, I deeply understand what it’s like to feel unwell, overwhelmed, and let down by the conventional health system.
My Story: Where It All Began
From a young age, I was fascinated by health, the human body, and how food interacts with our biology. One of my earliest memories is being 7 years old and borrowing a book from the school library that showed what happened to food in the body during digestion. I was completely hooked. I remember staring at the diagrams, trying to understand how food became part of us and how our organs worked together to keep us alive.
I also felt most at home outdoors. I loved being in nature and spent every moment I could outside. It made me feel safe, calm, and connected. Now, as a naturopath, I understand the science behind what I felt so intuitively. Nature is deeply healing, and that connection still shapes how I live and work today.
At 12 years old, I used to lay awake at night terrified of my parents getting old and of ageing myself. I had watched what happened to the older people around me and how so many of them simply accepted that getting older meant being tired, unwell, and physically limited. I didn’t understand why that had to be normal.
My grandfather lived with cardiovascular disease and a pacemaker, and my other Pop suffered a stroke and later developed dementia. That was the moment everything shifted. Nothing motivates you to care about long-term health quite like visiting a dementia ward. It was confronting and heartbreaking. It lit the fire that still drives everything I do. That experience made me want to understand how we can prevent disease and preserve quality of life through nutrition, lifestyle, and herbal medicine.
My Own Health Journey
Despite being interested in health from a young age, I didn’t always live in alignment with it. Like many of my clients, I spent years stuck in a cycle of exhaustion, weight gain, anxiety, and gut issues. I felt dismissed, confused, and unsupported.
As an adult, I was diagnosed with ADHD, which gave me a much greater understanding of the challenges I faced growing up. Throughout my teenage years, I also battled depression, anxiety, body dysmorphia, and disordered eating. These experiences were incredibly isolating and shaped how I view both health and healing. I understand how deeply emotional health can influence physical symptoms, and I bring that lived empathy into every part of my work.
Eventually, I was diagnosed with insulin resistance, adrenal dysfunction, hypothyroidism, oestrogen dominance, and poor gut function. I also struggled with chronic fatigue and burnout. It was a dark and frustrating time.
When I began studying naturopathic medicine, everything started to make sense. I created a structured protocol for myself, combining what I was learning in real time. Over six months, I lost 20 kilograms, balanced my hormones, improved my energy, and rebuilt my health.
That experience shaped everything I do now. I know what it’s like to feel lost in your body. And I know how powerful it is when the right support, education, and strategy come together.
My Approach
I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Naturopathic Medicine and Nutrition and Certification in Anti-Ageing Medicine (Australasian Academy of Anti-Ageing Medicine, A5M)
I am also currently completing:

I combine naturopathy, clinical nutrition, functional testing, DNA analysis, herbal medicine, and lifestyle therapy to create personalised treatment protocols tailored to each client’s body, biology, and goals.
Over the past 8 years, I’ve built and grown my online clinic, The Longevity Remedy, where I’ve supported thousands of women through hormonal imbalances, digestive issues, weight challenges, skin problems, and long-term fatigue. My approach is whole-body, strategic, and grounded in science and the healing power of nature.
What Sets Me Apart
I’m not about extremes. I believe in structure, flexibility, and a lifestyle that leaves room for real life. I live by the 80/20 philosophy, choosing nourishing food, movement, and restorative habits most of the time, while still enjoying the things I love without guilt.
And yes, that includes eating at delicious restaurants (my husband and I are massive foodies), enjoying a bloody mary or margarita or the one indulgent food very close to my heart KFC. My grandfather owned one of the very first KFC restaurants in Canada in the 1950s and was close friends with Colonel Sanders. I even have the photos to prove it. You could say KFC runs through my veins, and I truly believe that health and longevity are about balance, not perfection.
